Twende Twende is a blog with the purpose of informing you about human rights issues in Africa. With this blog I wish to show you the problems many men, women and children face everyday in Africa, so that you realize that you can
make a difference, no matter which religion, ethnicity or sex you may have. If you leave this blog informed and with a willingness to do something about human rights issues in Africa (or anywhere else), then the purpose of this blog has been fullfilled.
What can I expect from Twende Twende?
Twende Twende is a serious blog and contains correct and relevant information. All facts are carefully looked through and sources are looked upon skeptically. But the blog should in no way be considered a professional one. It is run by myself only and all views and opinions are (if I do not write otherwise) my own and should not be taken for someone else’s. This includes all articles, novels, as well as other texts. I will write the name of the author/photographer of what i post. This blog is open for discussions, questions and any article/novel/picture/song/movie or other relevant documentation that you have and wish to share with the rest of our community.
Who is behind Twende Twende?
I am a student who is dedicating my time and life to address and fight human rights issues in Africa. I have been active and doing research about human rights and human rights issues in Africa since 2006. Sadly I have been told many times that I am restricted in what I am able to do, as I am only 16 (May, 2007). I do not share this view as I strongly believe one person can make a difference. I want to influence other people so that they too will reach out and fight for human rights. As I see it we can all make a difference, but if we are not informed about the problems how will we ever be able to solve them? So I decided to create Twende Twende with the hope that I can inspire people to address and fight for human rights, specially in Africa. I hope that with your help this blog will grow and influence people around the world to take up the fight for equal human rights.

Aloha!
Your website is superb. Thank you for taking the time to inform us of human rights issues in Africa. My student Katie and I are doing research on child soldiers in Africa. [we are in Hawaii.] What you are doing is crucial – you can change the world with your work.
Katie’s class at La Pietra School [for girls] is led by a dynamic teacher, Ms. Sotoro.
We will have them access your ’site!
[I am a tutor.]
Keep up the hard work.
Peace,
Ping
